If you haven't yet heard Larry Wayne Morbitt sing prepare yourself for an intimately powerful worship experience. Here is a voice that has earned the acclaim and appreciation of professionals in the music industry and hundreds of theatergoers. Yet, when he sings about Christ, his warm, smooth, and dynamic singing style is mingled with profound sincerity and spiritual maturity.

Born and raised in a Christian home in Southern California, Larry sensed a calling to the ministry of music in his early teens. His heart and mind began to be shaped by scripture that taught, "...Every devoted thing is most holy unto the Lord." It challenged him to become all things to all men so that by all means some may be saved. The desire to share the love of Jesus Christ through song meant developing his gifts fully and striving to obey the Great Commission by "going into every man's world."

After earning his undergraduate degree he began to serve for what eventually became 14 years as a full-time Minister of Music in California, Oregon, Nevada, New York, and Texas. Yet, he continued performing in musical theater and opera and developed a substantial solo concert career.
Once he completed his Masters degree at Texas Christian University events made it clear that he was to concentrate on professional musical theater and concert work.

Though, his permanent home is in the New York City area Larry left the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera in the spring of 2006 to play the role of Ubaldo Piangi in the new Phantom production at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. In the summer of 2007 Larry will celebrate his twelfth anniversary with this, the world's most successful show business property.

His professional career has brought him to a variety of opera stages to perform various Puccini, Mozart, and Verdi roles. Along with Phantom he has been cast in The Music Man, Trial by Jury, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Merry Widow. He has sung with Dallas Opera, Los Angeles Civic Light Opera, Fort Worth Youth Symphony, The Tulsa Signature Orchestra, and the Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra.

His concert activity has led him to sing for such notables as the Vice President of the United States, the former Empress Farah Diba of Iran, The Consul General of the People's Republic of China, the Commander of the Sixth Fleet, and the Kennedy family at the Kennedy Library in Boston. He has sung for colleges, Air Force bases, large corporate conventions, and major league baseball, basketball, and hockey teams across the nation.
All the while he has ministered with major Christian organizations as well, including Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, the late Audrey Mieir Ministries, 700 Club, The Good News Telecast with Demos Shakarian, and 100 Huntley Street in Toronto. Larry also spent a summer working in Kabul, Afghanistan as part of the International "Love Liberation" team headed by Floyd McClung. And he has sung in numerous prime time television specials with a broad spectrum of artists and personalities as a member of the World Action Singers while earning his Bachelor of Music Education degree at Oral Roberts University. Recently he guest soloed at Praise Gathering in Indianapolis and in the fall of 2006 he was featured in Bill and Gloria Gaither's Homecoming video series. He will, again, be featured on their newest video coming out the fall of 2007.

The summer of 2002 saw the release of his solo CD entitled HEAVEN AND HOPE, dedicated to the heroes of 9/11 with net proceeds being contributed to the NYPD and FDNY Benevolence Funds. Recently, he released his newest album entitled LARRY WAYNE MORBITT, with songs reflecting his own spiritual journey. Further CD information and audio samples may be found at his website, www.larrywayne.com/products.asp.

Larry currently maintains ministerial credentials with his fellowship because he feels whether singing or leading worship in a local church or playing a role on stage he is responding to God's ongoing call on his life.
